Hi, I'm Jess

I’m an editor and writer living in the Pacific Northwest. I’m also an artist, data nerd, fact-checker, and writers’ mentor.

I can develop characters — and illustrate them. I can research, perform the interviews, fact check, and write an article. As an editor, I’m not here to make anyone sound the same; I pride myself on mentoring writers into their best selves.

  • Studied fiction writing and publishing with an editing emphasis at Pacific Lutheran University.

Other Stuff

I dabble. A lot. Enough to resent a 24-hour day for being too short. I’m generally fixating on a new skill, whether that’s playing violin poorly, learning a language, or Python.

I love backcountry hiking with my hammock and my partner, gardening with my cat acting as my shadow, feeding “my” crows, learning, gaming, and creating.
